Your ringtones should play whenever you receive a call or message, but there are several reasons why you might not hear them. Settings such as Do Not Disturb, Airplane mode, and Focus mode can silence your ringtones, preventing you from hearing them.

1. Your phone will not ring if someone calls from a blocked number or if call forwarding is enabled.

Increase your device’s volume by following these steps:

• Close any open apps and stop any playing media.
• Use the volume buttons to increase the volume.

Note that if you have headphones connected or media playing, the ringtone volume will not increase. If you still do not hear any sounds, check your speaker for any issues.

2. To set a song as a ringtone, you need to have the song file downloaded on your device. Songs from Spotify or other streaming services cannot be used as ringtones.

Check Your Ringtone Settings

• You can choose a default or custom ringtone for your phone, or even assign a unique ringtone to specific contacts. Additionally, you can set distinct sounds and tones for alerts and messages.
• If you’ve set custom ringtones for other apps that support calling or video calling, make sure to check the sound settings within those specific apps. For additional support, contact the app developer.

3. Verify if "Mute all sounds" is enabled.

•  Navigate to Settings, select Accessibility, and then tap Hearing enhancements. Toggle the switch next to Mute all sounds to turn it off.

4. Check if Airplane mode is enabled. 

• Swipe down from the top of the screen with two fingers to open the Quick settings panel. If the Airplane mode icon is blue, it means it's on; tap the icon to turn it off.

5. Ensure that no modes are muting your phone.

•  Go to Settings, then select Modes and routines. Tap on Digital Wellbeing and disable any modes that might silence the ringtone, such as Sleep or Relax.

6. Check your Do Not Disturb settings. 

• Swipe down from the top of the screen with two fingers to open the Quick Settings panel, then touch and hold the Do Not Disturb icon to review its settings. You may have inadvertently activated Do Not Disturb for an extended period.

• If you wish to keep Do Not Disturb enabled but still receive calls from specific contacts, you can configure exceptions.

7. To restart your phone, begin by swiping down from the top of the screen using two fingers. 

• Tap on the Power icon, select Restart, and confirm by tapping Restart again. Allow your phone to power back on, then check if the ringtone issue has been resolved.

8. Perform a factory reset on your phone if other troubleshooting steps fail. 

• This can resolve issues caused by apps interfering with your ringtones. After resetting, test your ringtones before installing any new apps to ensure they work correctly.
